Reading - We will be reading the book, ‘The Rainbow Bear”. As part of this we will be inferring meaning and looking at different vocabulary that shows us how a character is feeling and behaving.
Our whole class reading sessions will link to aspects of “The Rainbow Bear” like the Arctic and its important features.
As writers, we are going to explore a range of different structures in our writing and look at retrieval. We will be looking at the main structure of a story and using a story mountain to help us build up our stories and distinguish the different parts that need to be included.
In Maths- Our main focus will be on multiplication and division, we shall be looking at grouping, sharing, halving and doubling. We shall look at the link between multiplication and our times tables. We will then move onto looking at length and height focusing on centimeters and meters.
Some of the key vocabulary that we shall be using; multiplication, division, groups of, lots of, sharing, halving, doubling, times tables, centimeters, meters, height, length, short, tall, taller, shorter, shortest, tallest.
Science- We will be looking at the habitat in the Arctic and linking it to a bear.
Key Vocabulary – habitat, home and arctic,
Geography –We will focus on the geographical features of the Arctic, the climate, human features, and what it would be like to live there.
Key vocabulary – physical features, human features, and climate.
Art – we shall be focussing on the artist Keith Haring. We will be looking at how Keith Haring would draw a penguin in his unique style.
Religious Education – We shall be focusing on Christianity and the significance of Jesus coming back to life after his crucifixion.
PSHE – Nutrition
