After being a stay at home mum for 10 years, I decided to volunteer at my children’s school with reading, as I thought it would be nice to help and love the school environment. After a short amount of time I was offered a Midday Assistant position which I enjoyed even more.

I enjoyed getting to know the children and that I was making a difference to their day. After a couple of years I decided that I would be interested in a classroom assistant job and luckily enough the school were looking for somebody to cover a year 2 teaching assistant who was on long term sick leave which I did for 6 months and absolutely loved.

I then moved on to working as a 1-1 with a year 3 boy with whom I built a lovely relationship. I joined Freshwaters in September last year as a 1-1 and have never been so happy in my work. The children are lovely, the staff are lovely, Freshwaters really is a great school.
