Miss Laura Hopps
When I was five, starting my education in Bay One (or Rainbow Fish as its now known), I decided I wanted to be a teacher thanks to the encouragement of my teacher Mrs Lewis.
From there, I never really wavered from the idea of teaching. Whilst I was at sixth form, I volunteered once a week in a year six class and began taking an active role in Cub scouts where I also enjoyed teaching children in a new setting.
I went to university in 2012 to begin my degree in Educational Studies and English Literature and once I graduated, began finding the best route into teaching for me.
I started my teaching journey at Little Parndon where I realised how deeply I enjoy encouraging young minds and watching children go from strength to strength in both their learning and their personal lives.
After moving to a new school in 2018, I returned 'home' to Freshwaters in 2021 and have found myself in a wonderful school, with wonderful, exuberant children and a phenomenal team of adults.
